Hello,

Here are some of my viewpoints in the Italy Response to Corona Virus.

Italy faced one of the biggest crisis since World War II. Within one month, it has seen massive number of cases of Infected people of Virus. Here are some of the errors which Italy did to protect virus:-

- Did not learn from China, Singapore, Taiwan:- Italy did not react to the virus early on. They kept their economy open. In fact, in February, they even had big political meetings in Milan to show that this Virus has no impact on the economy and need not be afraid. Scientists were giving them a warning but political leaders have ignored it and kept economy open till the very last moment of March 2nd week.

- Partial Lockdowns - Italy did not implement lockdown to the whole country together they did it partially. So rather than having protective measure they were following virus and implement lockdown where virus already did spread.

- Decentralize Policy:- Even neighbour states/county had a different approach to deal with the virus. Lombardy & Veneto is a classical example:-

  • Lombardy, Europe's one of the wealthiest region, did not implement do intensive testing, they did not emphasise on home diagnosis and care. if someone found positive they did not quarantine the whole area
  • While Veneto did the opposite.
  • Veneto had very less case and deaths compare to Lombardy.
Well, we can conclude at the end that:-
  • The virus spread faster than our bureaucracy.
  • COVID 19 need warlike mobilization to stop the spread.
